MIAA Tournament Management Committee Highlights: September 25, 2024

The following are highlights from the MIAA Tournament Management Committee meeting that took place September 25, 2024 at the MIAA Offices in Franklin. These highlights are not intended as a substitute for official meeting minutes, which will be posted if approved at a future date.

• Swim format correction received from the Swim committee liaison was received and approved. The Girls’ State Division II 100 yd Butterfly published time is corrected to 1:08:08.
• Cross Country update to proposed Fall alignments 2025-26 through 2026-27 was approved unanimously by the TMC. The MIAA Cross Country and Track Liaison will call impacted schools directly. An updated alignment document will be posted. All schools may still appeal.
• Football Committee Chair Jay Costa joined the committee to present the Football Committee’s proposal for a new format for the MIAA football tournament. TMC committee members will bring information back to their constituents and should be prepared to vote on this proposal at the October meeting.
• Spring Tournament Directors were invited to address committee with a Spring-2024 review (sports represented were Baseball, Softball, Lacrosse, and Volleyball) Remaining sports will be invited to the October meeting.
• Rule change proposals for 2025-2027 were voted on by the committee.
• Next Committee meeting dates: 10/23/24 (virtual) and 11/14/24 (in-person)
