Job Start Date: August 18, 2025

Triton High School is seeking an enthusiastic and dedicated High School Field Hockey Coach to lead and develop our student-athletes. The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership skills, a passion for the sport, and the ability to foster a positive, supportive, and competitive environment for student-athletes. This is a part-time, seasonal position for the duration of the field hockey season, which typically runs from August to October.

Key Responsibilities:
Plan, organize, and lead daily practice sessions, focusing on skill development, team strategies, and conditioning.
Prepare the team for competitive play through game strategies, tactical training, and sportsmanship.
Foster a positive and inclusive team culture, promoting respect, teamwork, and good sportsmanship among players.
Ensure player safety, proper equipment use, and compliance with school policies and league regulations.
Communicate effectively with players, parents, and school staff regarding team activities, schedules, and expectations.
Assist with organizing team travel, transportation, and logistics for away games.
Track and assess player progress, providing constructive feedback for improvement.
Coordinate and supervise team tryouts and rosters, ensuring fair opportunities for all students.
Attend all practices, games, and team events during the season.
Collaborate with athletic department staff and other coaches to promote a unified athletic program.

Job Requirements

Previous experience coaching or playing field hockey at the high school or collegiate level preferred.
Strong understanding of field hockey rules, techniques, and strategies.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Ability to motivate and inspire student-athletes to achieve their full potential.
CPR/First Aid certification (or willingness to obtain prior to the season).
Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
Ability to work with diverse groups of students and parents.
Ability to create a positive, inclusive, and competitive environment.
Background check required.
