Varsity Boys Lacrosse at Bellingham High School

FUNCTION:
1.To plan, direct and supervise all phases of the total Boys Lacrosse Program in accordance with the MIAA, Tri-Valley League, Athletic Department and School policies.
2.To oversee the physiological and skill development of student-athletes in the program.
3.To develop each student participant to maximum potential in a program of skill, learning and improvements.
4.Directly responsible to the Athletic Director, in liaison with the High School Principal.
5.Works under the direction of the Varsity Head Coach to ensure that a consistent philosophy of skill development in student athletes is followed.

DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES:

1. Assumes responsibility as designated by the Athletic Director and Head Coach.
2. Assumes responsibility for organizing, coaching and administering in a manner consistent with the total Program (V & JV).
3. Adheres to the adopted policies of the Bellingham School Committee.
4. Follows the policies and procedures in the Athletic Department Staff Handbook.
5. Follows sound coaching practices in teaching all skills including aspects of health and safety.
6. Assumes responsibility for equipment inventory.
7. Enforces disciplined and sportsmanlike behavior.
8. Provides input and guidance to the Head Coach.
9. Oversees the safety conditions of the facility or assigned area including the locker rooms.

QUALIFICATIONS:
1. Dedication to the School, to the Student-Athlete and to the Athletic Program.
2. Comprehensive knowledge of the sport and the ability to demonstrate and teach individual skills.
3. Ability to motivate the student-athlete to maximum potential.
4. Professional in appearance and actions.
5. Prior experience as a Lacrosse Coach preferred.
6. Certification CPR, First Aid or the equivalent preferred.
