Job Title: Assistant Football Coach Reports to: Athletic Director/Principal
Job Summary
The Athletic Coach is responsible for coaching the team, focusing on teaching proper technique, as well as offensive and defensive strategies. HPS coaches are responsible for fostering a positive and competitive team environment while helping student athletes grow in both their skills and personal character. Requires in-depth knowledge of the rules, strategies, and techniques of the specific sport you coach. Coaching staff report directly to the Athletic Director and are expected to follow the policies and procedures of Hingham Public Schools
Qualifications
Experience coaching high school specific sport; experience working with students.
Flexible problem solver with strong sense of initiate and personal responsibility
Experience working with various stakeholders within a school community
Strong communication skills, both verbal and written
Trained/Certified or will become trained/certified in CPR, and First Aid/Concussion
Responsibilities
Design and implement effective practice sessions focused on skill development, course strategy, and sportsmanship
Teach the skills and strategies to student-athletes in grades 9-12.
Be a role-model and teacher of the game, fostering a culture of respect, integrity, and teamwork
Support student athletes in achieving both athletic and academic success
Work collaboratively with entire coaching staff to ensure program consistency and continuity
Other duties may include; practice, game day coaching, conditioning of athletes, supervision of athletes, maintenance of practice facility and equipment, determine awards for students and provide the athletic department with a list of team needs

Seasonal Position
Stipend payment in agreement with the HEA Unit A Collective Bargaining Agreement
Employment contingent upon successful completion of background checks pursuant to federal and/or state laws
