Sportsmanship, Integrity and Ethics Committee

The voting membership of the MIAA Sportsmanship, Integrity and Ethics committee is:

• One principal (or assistant principal) from each of the nine (9) athletic districts
• One athletic director from each of the nine (9) athletic districts
• One school superintendent appointed by M.A.S.S.
• One school committee member appointed by MASC
• Two active coaches – one representing each gender
• Two game officials– one representing each gender (actively enrolled with MIAA)
• Two “at-large” representatives appointed by Board of Directors

In pursuing its purpose, the Association provides leadership that ensures interscholastic athletics are conducted within reasonable bounds, encouraging all that is honorable and sportsmanlike. The Board of Directors delegates to the Sportsmanship, Integrity, and Ethics Committee the responsibility for specific functions involved in proper administration of the Association’s responsibilities.

The powers and duties of the Sportsmanship, Integrity, and Ethics Committee shall be those needed to provide leadership and service designed to improve interschool relations in athletics; however, these duties and powers may be designated in detail by the Board of Directors or by the Assembly.
