The MIAA, in conjunction with Special Olympics Massachusetts, completed a successful 2025 Unified Track and Field season with the State Championship Meet on Wednesday, May 28 at Natick High School.
More than 600 athletes from 57 schools across the MIAA competed in the daylong event, which brings together students with and without intellectual disabilities to train and compete on the same team while representing their school.
Athletes were placed in competitive tiers based on performance in the following events:
- Shot put
- Long jump
- Javelin
- 100-meter dash
- 400 meters
- 800 meters
Each participating school also was allowed to enter one 4x100 and one 4x400 relay team comprised of two athletes and two partners.
Congratulations to the 2025 MIAA Unified Track and Field Championship schools: Natick High School (Division 1) and Sandwich High School (Division 2).
Team Sportsmanship Awards were presented to: Riverview School, Wahconah Regional High School, Weymouth High School, and Whitman-Hanson Regional High School.
Athletes qualified for the State Championship Meet by competing in Sectional Championship meets held throughout Massachusetts in May.
