MIAA Spring Golf Championships: Erika Redmond of Concord-Carlisle Earns Medalist Honors; Wellesley Teams Up for Victory

Posted: June 9, 2025

Erika Redmond of Concord-Carlisle High School shot a 2-over-par 73 and that was enough for a 1-shot victory and medalist honors in the 2025 MIAA Spring Golf Championship played Wednesday, June 4 at Sandy Burr Country Club in Wayland.

After winning the North/Central/West championship a week earlier, Wellesley High School dominated the team competition with a +74 total of 358 on the par-71 Sandy Burr course. That gave Wellesley its third Spring Golf championship in program history and first since 2017. Wachusett Regional High School, the 2024 champion, was second at +94, just ahead of Walpole High School (+96).

Redmond’s consistent round featured only 1 birdie on the par-4 6th hole and three bogeys. By finishing with a par on No. 18, she was able to hold off her younger sister Sophie Redmond as well as North/Central/West medalist Maddie Smith of Westford Academy, who each finished a shot back at +3 74 and tied for second.

Rebecca Kriegsman of Ashland High School was fourth (+5, 76), a shot ahead of Cecily Henshon of Longmeadow High School (+6, 77). Rounding out the top 10 individuals were a three-way for sixth place among Olivia Jatczak of Cape Cod Academy, Sabrina Wu of Lexington High School, and Tori Adams of Walpole (each +7, 78), followed by Callie Crean of Hingham High School (+9, 80) and South medalist Hanely Correia of Bishop Feehan High School (+11, 82).

Wellesley was led by Alika Lavu, whose +14 score of 85 was tied for 14th. Ruby Savarese followed with an 88, and the Raiders rounded out their scoring with Denise Pan (92) and Jenna Saini (93).

Redmond is the first Spring medalist for Concord-Carlisle since Gabrielle Shieh, who won in both 2019 and 2017.
