MIAA Girls Lacrosse State Championships: Concord-Carlisle, Walpole Break Through; Medfield, Norwell Champs Again

Posted: June 17, 2025

The MIAA Girls Lacrosse Championships returned to Babson College in Wellesley this spring, with a pair of doubleheaders on Thursday, June 12 and Friday, June 13. Two schools picked up their first championships in program history, another repeated its title from 2024, while one more added to a rich championship legacy.

Here is a look at all the action:

Concord-Carlisle 2025 Division 1 Girls Lacrosse champion
Playing in its first championship game since 1989, Concord-Carlisle High School finally was able to celebrate a title.

Division 1

Lindsay Cain scored three goals and No. 1 seed Concord-Carlisle High School broke away from a halftime tie and pulled out an 8-6 victory over Westford Academy. It was the first championship in program history for the Patriots.

Three goals in the third quarter were all the Patriots needed to grab a 7-5 lead after the Dual County League rivals had battled to a 4-4 first-half draw.

Senior Karleigh Mutch and sophomore Scarlett Mirak had a pair of goals apiece for C-C, which made its only other championship game appearance in 1989.

No. 6 seed Westford Academy, which was playing in the final for the first time in program history, was led by senior Kassidy Carmichael’s three goals. Sophomore Mia Cullen added a pair for the Ghosts.

With the championship win, Concord-Carlisle avenged one of its two regular-season losses, 15-13 against Westford Academy.

Walpole 2025 Division 2 Girls Lacrosse champion
Walpole High School's persistence paid off with the program's first Division 2 championship.

Division 2

Appearing in its fifth championship game since 2016, No. 2 seed Walpole High School finally broke through for the first championship in program history, grabbing a 16-11 victory over No. 4 seed Reading Memorial High School.

The Timberwolves finally took control of the game midway through the third quarter. With the score knotted at 7, goals from senior Caitlyn Naughton, senior Jenna Wong and junior Emily Hagan put Walpole back in command, 10-7.

Naughton and Wong each finished with four goals, as did junior teammate Ava MacLean.

Walpole built an early 6-1 lead before Reading mounted a comeback in its first title game appearance.

Senior Molly Trahan and sophomore Lily Rodgers scored three goals apiece for Reading, and senior Megan Shanahan scored twice.

Medfield 2025 Division 3 Girls Lacrosse champion
Medfield High School repeated as Division 3 champion with its third title victory in four years.

Division 3

In a rematch of the 2024 title game, No. 1 seed Medfield High School put on an even more dominating performance to add to its recent championship legacy. The Warriors rolled to an 18-8 win over No. 2 seed Newburyport High School to make it three championships in four years for the program.

Junior Izzy Kittredge accounted for half the offense for the Warriors with her 6 goals and 3 assists, and added 7 draw controls to keep Medfield rolling. Juniors Mia Macropoulos and Stella Scobbo chipped in with three goals apiece for Medfield.

The Warriors steadily built their advantage throughout the game with leads of 6-3, 9-6 and 13-7 after each of the first three quarters. Newburyport, which dropped a 14-10 decision in last year’s final, never got closer.

Senior Reese Bromby sparked the Clippers with five goals.

Norwell 2025 Division 4 Girls Lacrosse champion
Norwell High School finished No. 1 in Division 4, the program's ninth championship but first since 2018.

Division 4

Senior Charlise Cox scored the decisive goal with 2:42 to play and No. 3 seed Norwell High School won its first championship since 2018, pulling out a 9-8 victory over South Shore League rival Cohasset High School.

Senior Charlotte Pithie played a strong game in goal for the Clippers, who won their MIAA-best ninth girls lacrosse state title.

Much like the teams’ regular-season matchup (an 11-10 Cohasset win on May 19), this one was a tight battle throughout. It was 3-3 after one quarter and 6-6 at the half, and not until Cox’s goal did Norwell take the lead for good.

Senior Holly Panttila scored three goals while senior Caroline Burtch and junior Natasha Mikus had two apiece. Sophomore twins Molly Campbell (three goals) and Maddie Campbell (two goals) sparked the Skippers.
