
Girls Outdoor Track and Field Championships: Firsts for North Andover, Amherst-Pelham ... North Reading, Mount Greylock Winners Again ... Lexington, Billerica Also Champs
Two schools repeated victories from 2024, two more picked up their first championships in program history, and another two added trophies to their case.
The 2025 MIAA Girls Outdoor Track and Field Championships were hosted between Thursday, May 29 and Sunday, June 1 at Tufts University, Merrimack College and Westfield State University. Each site hosted two divisions, with each championship meet covering two days with an open date in between.

Lexington High School is the 2025 MIAA Division 1 Girls Outdoor Track and Field champion.

North Andover High School is the 2025 MIAA Division 2 Girls Outdoor Track and Field champion.

Billerica Memorial High School is the 2025 MIAA Division 3 Girls Outdoor Track and Field champion.

Amherst-Pelham Regional High School is the 2025 MIAA Division 4 Girls Outdoor Track and Field champion.

North Reading High School is the 2025 MIAA Division 5 Girls Outdoor Track and Field champion.

Mount Greylock Regional School is the 2025 MIAA Division 6 Girls Outdoor Track and Field champion.
Division 1
Ainsley Cuthbertson was a double winner in the shot put and discus and Lexington High School earned its first Girls Outdoor Track and Field state championship since 1987, easily outdistancing the rest of the field at Tufts.
Cuthbertson had winning throws of 41 feet, 7½ inches in the shot put and 130-8 in the discus to aid Lexington’s winning effort. Lexington also captured the 4x800 relay with a time of 9 minutes, 33.27 seconds and finished with 108 points, well ahead of runner-up Natick High School.
Lexington also got key points with second-place finishes from Aubrey Deardorf in the 100 meters (12.84) and long jump (19-4½), Amelia Whorton in the 800 (2:10.16), Janie Conrad in the 2-mile (10:38.62), and Evelyn Radcliffe in the discus (120-6), as well as a third from Felice Haverly in the 400 (58.69). The 4x400 relay also placed second (4:01.83).
Chloe Elder was one of two double-winners in the meet to help Natick to second place. Elder won both the 200 (21.81) and 400 (54.29). Emmanuella Edozien also captured the 100-meter hurdles (13.89) for the Redhawks.
Westford Academy’s Abigail Hennessy was the other double-winner in the 800 (2:07.18) and mile (4:43.72) as the Ghosts took third place with 57 points.
Division 2
North Andover High School secured the first championship in program history, finishing with 79 points to just bump three-time defending champion Wellesley High School (76) off the top of the podium at Merrimack.
Eleanor Gosselin was the lone event winner for the Scarlet Knights, capturing the pole vault by clearing 9 feet, 6 inches. Gosselin also placed second in both the 100-meter hurdles (15.59) and the pentathlon (2,674 points) as depth was key to the North Andover victory.
Kayla Coolidge took second in the pole vault behind Gosselin (9-0), and North Andover also got thirds from Samantha Schwartz in the 400 (59.14), Mell Moura in the high jump (tied, 5-2), and Juliana Yankowsky in the pentathlon (2,574).
Wellesley’s push for a four-peat was sparked by a 1-2-3 sweep of the long jump behind Annie Comella (18-9), Leila Eccher (17-10) and Sara Gander (17-9½). Eccher also won the triple jump (36-10¼), and the Raiders were victorious in the 4x800 (9:40.56).
There were three double-winners in the meet: Macey Shriner of Plymouth North High School in the 400 (56.01) and 800 (2:10.88); Dana Lehr of Belmont High School in the mile (4:55.38) and 2-mile (10:36.9); and Alessandra Forgione of Peabody Veterans Memorial High School in the discus (130-2) and javelin (133-5).
Division 3
Billerica Memorial High School captured its second championship in three seasons, compiling 92 points to finish well clear of the rest of the pack at Westfield State.
Nyrah Joseph was the star of the meet for the Indians with three individual victories – the 100-meter hurdles (14.68), triple jump (37-9¼) and pentathlon (3,258 points).
In scoring 92 total points, Billerica also was strong in the distance events as Kyle Donahue was second in both the mile (5:10.59) and 2-mile (10:58.71). Caitlyn Donahue added a third in the mile (5:11.34). Billerica also was second in the 4x800 (9:42.68).
The team battle was for second place and it went to Westborough High School (44 points), just ahead of a tight pack of Reading Memorial High School and Westwood High School tied for third (42), with Plymouth South High School in fifth (41).
Sharon High School’s Nina Kyei-Aboagye swept the 100 (11.74) and 200 (24.01), and Megan Moran of Westfield High School was a double-winner in the mile (5:10.35) and 2-mile (10:58.53). Lila Davies of Plymouth South captured both the shot put (37-9½) and discus (106-4).
Division 4
Amherst-Pelham Regional High School made history with the program’s first championship as the Hurricanes compiled 87½ points at Merrimack to outpace runner-up Melrose High School (68) and third-place Holliston High School (59).
Moriah Luetjen won the 400 meters (56.36) and was second in the 200 (25.35) to spark the Hurricanes, who also got first place from Elizabeth Sawicki in the pole vault (9-0) as well as the victorious 4x400 relay (4:00.36).
Ololara Baptiste followed Luetjen with a second in the 400 (58.52), and the Hurricanes also were second in the 4x800 (9:42.5).
Sophia Guzman of Chicopee High School won both the 100 (11.99) and 200 (25.29).
Melrose’s runner-up finish was sparked by Reilly Powell’s win in the 2-mile (11:10.15).
Division 5
North Reading High School made it a three-peat at Westfield State as the Hornets finished with 99 points, ahead of runner-up Dennis-Yarmouth Regional High School (61).
Giuliana Ligor starred for North Reading with her wins in the 100-meter hurdles (14.38) and 400-meter hurdles (1:00.65). The Hornets also got individual victories from Hayden MacLellan in the pole vault (9-6) and Callie MacLellan in the pentathlon (3,219).
Hayden MacLellan also was second in the long jump (17-1½) Callie MacLellan third in the 100-meter hurdles (15.41). North Reading also placed second in the 4x400 (4:14.15) and got a third from Sydney Scholz in the javelin (104-6).
Brennan Braham and Kerri Clark led Dennis-Yarmouth with 1-2 finishes in both the 200 and 400 – Braham winning both with times of 24.29 and 54.87, respectively. Clark ran 25.41 in the 200 and 58.13 in the 400. The Dolphins also won the 4x400 in 4:08.63.
Annaikiah Donahue-Wilfred of Cardinal Spellman High School won both the long jump (17-6¼) and triple jump (36-8¾).
Division 6
Mount Greylock Regional School needed every bit of its team effort to secure the championship for the second time in as many years at Tufts, The Mounties scored 63.85 points, which was just enough to finish ahead of Hamilton-Wenham Regional High School (59) and Lunenburg High School (58).
The Mounties won only one event, but the 4x800 victory (10:10.38) was enough to propel them to the top. Katherine Goss was the top individual for Mount Greylock with her seconds in the 100-meter hurdles (15.66) and triple jump (36-3¾) with a third in the 400-meter hurdles (1:06.58). Nora Lopez took third in the javelin (110-7), and Greylock placed second in the 4x400 (4:10.32).
Georgia Wilson led Hamilton-Wenham’s effort with wins in the 100-meter hurdles (15.49) and triple jump (37-0) plus a second in the long jump (17-8). The Generals also were second in the 4x800 (10:19.49).
Lunenburg went 1-2 in the pentathlon with Karynna Long (2,546) and Lyla Dellasanta (2,303). The Blue Knights also captured the 4x400 (4:04.63).
