The MIAA is proud to announce that Alyse Mutti, a senior at North Reading High School is the recipient of the Student of the month for the month of March.  Alyse was nominated by her coach, Michelle Roach.  A three-sport athlete at North Reading Alyse excels at Field Hockey, Ice Hockey, and Softball while maintaining a 3.84 GPA.  

In addition to her strong academic record, one in which she attained honor roll status in every quarter at NRHS, Alyse has been a member of the ASL Club, Student Council, and Yearbook. Alyse plans to major in forensic science /criminal justice in college.

As an athlete, Alyse has played a sport in every season but her true love is in ice hockey where she attained great accolades. She set program records in the following categories: fewest goals allowed in a single season (16), most shutouts in a single season (11), most career shutouts (32), and most career wins (62). This past season she was also named the Boston Globe Player of the Week (week of February 10) and the North Reading High School Winter Sports MVP.  As a great achievement, Alyse allowed the fewest goals for all all MIAA girls' and boys' divisions, and was nominated for Massachusetts State Hockey Coaches' Association All-Star game and Cross-Border All-Star Challenge (vs. CT All-Stars).  As a junior, Alyse was named Boston Globe All-Scholastic, Boston Herald All-Scholastic, Salem News Player of the Year, Lynn Daily Item All-Star, All-Conference honors, chosen as a Boston Globe Player of the Week for two separate weeks, and set a program record for single season wins (18).  Her sophomore season saw Alyse receive accolades as she was named North Reading High School Winter Sports MVP, Boston Globe All-Scholastic, Boston Herald All-Scholastic, Moynihan Lumber Student-Athlete of the Month (February), Salem News All-Star, All-Conference honors, and an MIAA Rising Sophomore.

In addition to her great academic and athletic accomplishments, Alyse also volunteers at the Lynnfield Fire Department to learn the skills and competencies required of firefighters and paramedics. She has been on calls with the department to observe and has earned the appropriate certifications as necessary (CPR, First Aid). Alyse has also fundraised for Special Olympics and completed the Polar Plunge. Finally Alyse has been a volunteer coach for a  youth hockey team.
