2026 Outdoor Track and Field Meet of Champions: Reading's Ryan Pulpi, Cohasset's Nick Askjaer Record Historic Performances
The 2026 MIAA Outdoor Track and Field Meet of Champions was held Thursday, June 4 and Saturday, June 6 at Merrimack College. Both the Boys and Girls fields of competitors featured multiple winners, record breakers and other big performances.
Boys
Ryan Pulpi of Reading Memorial High School and Nick Askjaer of Cohasset High School not only took home a pair of victories, but each broke meet records in one of their events.
Pulpi set a new standard in the 400 meters with a time of 47.33 seconds, and also was the winner in the 200 meters (21.06).
Askjaer dominated in the throwing circles, breaking the discus mark with a top distance of 187 feet, 1 inch. His shot put toss of 61-7 also was good for first place.
Colton Robinson of West Springfield High School shined in the para athlete division, winning both wheelchair events. Robinson covered the 100 meters in 20.33 seconds and won the 400 meters in 1 minute, 13.52 seconds.
Amar Skeete of Catholic Memorial School and Harry Flint of Brookline High School were the other record breakers across the two days of competition. Skeete shattered the previous mark in the triple jump with a leap of 51 feet, 2 inches. Flint captured the 800 meters with a winning time of 1 minute, 50.33 seconds, and also anchored Brookline’s winning 4x800 relay with Ibrahim Abdel-Dayem, Theodore Butty and Santi Sierra.
Skeete was among several athletes who placed in multiple events, also taking second in the long jump (24-1).
Alex Todorov of Xaverian Brothers High School won the 100 meters (10.62) and was second in the 200. Aiden Calcano Da Silva of Abington High School also had a first in the 400-meter hurdles (52.61) and second in the 110 hurdles (14.43), and Michael Mohoric of Newburyport High School had a personal 1-2 in the mile (4:07.37) and 800, respectively.
Sean Blaze of Clinton High School was second in the 100 and third in the 200, and Joshua Leidner of Essex North Shore was second in both wheelchair events.

- High jump: Cooper Calvert, Wahconah Regional HS (6-8)
- Long jump: Amari Mow, Lexington HS (24-2 ¼)
- Pole vault: Ryan McCormack, Wayland HS (14-6)
- Javelin: Luke Rogerson, Reading Memorial HS (197-9)
- Pentathlon: Sawyer Regan, Walpole HS (3,231 points)
- 4x100: Saint John’s Preparatory School – (41.69)
- 4x400: Abington HS (3:16.06)
Girls
For the second year in a row, Nina Kyei-Aboagye of Sharon High School was the star of the event. Kyei-Aboagye repeated her feat from 2025 by once again winning both the 100 and 200 meters. Her winning time in the 100 was 11.83 seconds, and she captured gold in the 200 in 23.56.
Maddie Wilson of Notre Dame Academy (Worcester) once again was dominant in the wheelchair events with three victories. Wilson won the 400 meters in 1 minute, 19.18 seconds, took first in the mile (5:33.27) and added a third gold in the 2-mile (11:28.97).
Madelyn Greenough of Douglas High School swept the ambulatory throwing events, taking firsts in the shot put (12-10 ½) and discus (30-8).
Lexington High School had a pair of 1-2 finishers: Aubrey Deardorf won the long jump (20-3 ¼) and was second in the triple jump, while Ainsley Cuthbertson prevailed in the shot put (41-2 ½) and added a silver in the discus (126-3).
Mary MacDonald of Bristol-Plymouth Technical High School was the winner of the 100-meter wheelchair race (23.34), then finished second in the mile and third in the 400.
Canton High School’s Lauren Raffetto won the 800 meters (2:09.7) and was third in the mile.
Khadijah Diagne of Malden High School had a pair of seconds in the 200 and 400, and Amelia Whorton of Lexington did the same in the 800 and mile. Sazie Wrentmore of Wayland High School was second in the 400 hurdles and third in the long jump.
Natick High School had a pair of state champions: Chloe Elder in the 400 meters (53.96), and Emmanuella Edozien in the 100-meter hurdles (14.09).

- Pentathlon: Al Regnier, Westborough HS (3,471 points)
- Discus: Sophia Olaniyan, Taunton HS (140-1)
- Javelin: Natalie Rios, South Hadley HS (125-4)
- 4x100 relay: Newton North HS (48.33)
- 4x400 relay: Central Catholic HS (3:54.46)
- 4x800 relay: Billerica Memorial HS (9:10.56)
