2026 MIAA Indoor Track Meet of Champions: Sharon's Nina Kyei-Aboagye Leads Record Day
The 2026 MIAA Indoor Track Meet of Champions was held Saturday, February 21 at the TRACK at New Balance.
Here is a recap of the action:
Girls
Sharon High School senior Nina Kyei-Aboagye won a pair of events – setting a state record in one and a Meet of Champions mark in the other.
Kyei Aboagye not only successfully defended her championship in the 55-meter dash in 6.83 seconds, she went 0.04 seconds faster than the previous state record set by Brooke-Lynn Williams of Norton High School in 2016.
Then in the 300 meters, Kyei-Aboagye finished with a winning time of 38.33 seconds, topping the previous mark of 39.04 (Sierra Irvin of Hingham High School, 2014).
Senior Abigail Hennessy of Westford Academy also set a meet record in the mile, with a dominant victory in 4 minutes, 37.46 seconds. Hennessy easily surpassed the previous mark of 4:48.22, set by Lucy Jenks (Newton South High School) in 2020.
In the weight throw, senior Ainsley Cuthbertson of Lexington High School had a winning throw of 54 feet, 10 inches, shattering the meet record of 45-10.50 (Yrvicca Paul, John D. O’Bryant School, 2024). Cuthbertson also placed third in the shot put (39-4).
Senior Emmanuella Edozien of Natick High School repeated as state champion in the 55-meter hurdles with a winning time of 7.92 seconds.
Newton South senior Emily Frawley won the 1,000 meters in a near dead heat with Holliston High School freshman Lucy Downin. Frawley crossed in 2:54.371, just .005 ahead of Downin.
Newton North High School senior Penny Blumenthal won individual gold in the the 600 meters (1:33.51), and also ran the second leg of the Tigers’ victorious 4x200 relay with junior Sophie Finkelstein, and seniors Isabella Mangada and Brooke Bennett (1:44.79).

- 2-mile: Emily Flagg, junior, Whitinsville Christian School (10:36.92)
- High jump: Ella Turner, junior, Milton High School (5-6)
- Long jump: Kaitlyn Baokye-Yiadom, freshman, Westford Academy (18-2.25)
- Shot put: Emeline Boyer, senior, Melrose High School (40-5.50)
- 4x400 relay: Central Catholic High School – sophomore Kyla Breslin, senior Emma Finch, freshman Leighton Hickey, freshman Avery Strickler (4:00.11)
- 4x800 relay: Billerica Memorial High School – sophomore Kylie Donahue, sophomore Caitlyn Donahue, eighth-grader Maya Niles, freshman Evelyn Wesling (9:27.91)
Girls Meet of Champion results
Boys
Reading Memorial High School senior Ryan Pulpi followed up his double victory in the Division 3 Championships by sweeping the 55-meter dash and 300 meters again.
Pulpi crossed the line in 6.41 seconds for a narrow victory in the dash, then broke the 6-year-old meet record in the 300 with a winning time of 33.82 seconds.
Brookline High School senior Harry Flint was another meet standout. Flint won the 1,000 meters in 2 minutes, 30.11 seconds, and also ran the anchor leg on the Warriors’ winning 4x800 relay team. Flint was joined by senior Theodore Butty, and juniors Ibrahim Abdel-Dayem and Jonathan Traub with a winning time of 7:59.99.
Boston College High School also took home an individual and relay victory. Senior Greg McGrath captured the 2-mile in 9:08.15, and the Eagles took the 4x200 relay with seniors Michael Frost and Naol Adugna, junior Joaquin Barros, and sophomore Isaiah Christian.

- Mile: John Bianchi, senior, Natick High School (4:11.83)
- High jump: Parris Mbeca, senior, Lowell High School (6-4)
- Long jump: Amar Skeete, junior, Catholic Memorial School (23-1.25)
- Shot put: Mitchell Callender, junior, Oliver Ames High School (61-3)
- Weight throw: Dash Correia, senior, Nipmuc Regional High School (58-2.75)
- 4x400 relay: Newton North High School – senior Logan Smith, junior Nuno Cabral, senior Max Badri, senior George Rumkin (3:25.7)
