2026 MIAA Division 1 Fall Golf Championships: Another X-Tra Special Win for Chris Morrow, Xaverian

One year later, the ending was pretty much the same for Chris Morrow and Xaverian Brothers High School.

For the second time in as many years, Morrow had to battle through a three-way playoff to earn medalist honors, and he led the Hawks to a repeat of their Division 1 Fall Golf championship at Wellesley Country Club.

Morrow completed 18 holes on the par-71 course at even, a score that was matched by Xaverian teammate and South sectional co-medalist Michael McCormack as well as AJ Bodnar of Saint John’s Preparatory School.

After the first playoff hole was unable to break the stalemate, Morrow followed up with a birdie on the 323-yard, par-4 No. 4 to secure gold again.

With McCormack sharing second place, they helped the Hawks to a team score of 14-over-par 298, which was 11 strokes clear of runner-up St. John’s Prep. Saint John’s High School was third (312), followed by Wellesley High School (313) and Hingham High School (318).

Wesley Paine of Longmeadow High School was alone in fourth place (1-over 72), and Michael Rogers of Hingham was fifth (2-over 73). Luke Edgar added to Xaverian’s winning team score by placing sixth (4-over 75).

Central sectional medalist Max Zides of North Attleborough High School was in a three-way tie for seventh (5-over 76) with Wyatt Rue of St. John’s and Morgan Premock of Lincoln-Sudbury Regional High School.

Tucker Pierce was the fourth scorer for Xaverian with a 10-over 81.
