The 2026 MIAA Boys Basketball State Championships were held March 13-15 at Tsongas Center in Lowell. Champions were crowned in five divisions, including a pair of first-time winners, one drought snapped after more than three decades, and two more teams adding to their recent legacies.

Division 1

Senior Brody Bumila capped a historic tournament run with a game-high 36 points and Bishop Feehan High School completed an equally notable journey through the bracket as the No. 14 seed with a 66-63 win over No. 1 seed Central Catholic High School.

Bumila added 20 points and 5 blocks for the Shamrocks, who were the first double-digit seed to win a Boys Basketball state championship in the five-year history of the statewide tournament. Feehan needed four-overtime and two-overtime wins just to get through the bracket, then again leaned on Bumila, who averaged more than 40 points and 19 rebounds over the five tournament wins.

Trailing 33-29 at the half, Feehan used a big third quarter to grab a 52-46 lead heading into the final eight minutes.

Despite the play of senior Javi Lopez (30 points), Central Catholic never completely closed the gap. Senior Jeremiah Almanzar added 11 points for the Raiders, who were seeking their first state championship since 2010.
