Position Title: Assistant Soccer Coach
Reports To:
Head Soccer Coach, Director of Coaching, and Head of Athletics and Performance
Employment Status:
Seasonal, Stipend Position
Work Schedule
Weekday afternoons and evenings
Weekends
School vacations during preseason and postseason
Program development as assigned
Attendance at required athletic department meetings, professional development, and school events
Position Summary
Catholic Memorial School seeks a passionate, mission-driven coach committed to developing young men through the educational and spiritual mission of the Christian Brothers and the values of Blessed Edmund Rice. The Coach serves as a teacher, mentor, and leader who uses athletics as a vehicle to develop faith, character, leadership, discipline, sportsmanship, and excellence while cultivating a competitive program.

Essential Responsibilities
Student-Athlete Development
Develop young men of character through athletics.
Prioritize the holistic well-being of student-athletes.
Promote accountability, leadership, resilience, discipline, and integrity.
Support academic success and reinforce school expectations.
Teach life lessons that extend beyond athletic competition.
Program Leadership
Evaluate athletes and provide meaningful feedback.
Promote sportsmanship and teamwork.
Collaborate with the Athletic Department to strengthen the program.
Coaching Philosophy
Practice an athlete-centered approach.
Promote a growth mindset through continuous improvement.
Build trust through honest communication.
Teach resilience through adversity.
Create a positive, inclusive environment where every athlete is valued.
Game and Practice Responsibilities
Attend and supervise all practices, contests, meetings, and team events.
Follow MIAA, league, and Catholic Memorial policies.
Safety Responsibilities
Prioritize athlete health and safety.
Follow Emergency Action Plans and risk-management procedures.
Maintain CPR/AED and First Aid certification.
Professional Expectations
Demonstrate professionalism at all times.
Respect officials, opponents, spectators, and colleagues.
Model sportsmanship regardless of outcome.
Dress professionally while representing Catholic Memorial.
Maintain confidentiality and uphold school policies.
Qualifications
Previous coaching experience preferred.
Strong knowledge of soccer.
Excellent leadership and communication skills.
Commitment to Catholic Memorial's mission.
Ability to mentor adolescents and foster character development.
Clean background check (Cori/Sori)
