Varsity softball coach at Leominster High School

Leominster High School is seeking a passionate, energetic, and student-centered individual to serve as the Varsity Softball Coach. The successful candidate will provide leadership in all aspects of the softball program while promoting academic excellence, sportsmanship, character development, and competitive success. The varsity coach will work collaboratively with sub-varsity coaches to develop a unified program that prepares student-athletes for success at every level.

Essential Responsibilities
Plan, organize, and supervise all varsity softball practices, contests, and team activities.
Develop and implement a comprehensive softball program aligned with the values and expectations of Leominster High School Athletics.
Foster a positive, inclusive, and respectful team culture.
Teach the fundamental and advanced skills of softball while emphasizing teamwork, discipline, accountability, and leadership.
Collaborate with the athletic department, administration, and coaching staff to support the overall mission of the school.
Maintain effective communication with student-athletes, parents, coaches, and school personnel.
Ensure compliance with all school, district, league, and Massachusetts Interscholastic Athletic Association rules and regulations.
Promote student-athlete academic achievement and positive citizenship.
Coordinate offseason communication, player development opportunities, and summer programming in accordance with district and MIAA guidelines.
Assist with equipment inventory, uniforms, scheduling, and budget management.
Attend required athletic department meetings and professional development opportunities.
Qualifications
Previous successful coaching experience in softball, preferably at the high school or collegiate level.
Demonstrated knowledge of softball strategy, player development, and program building.
Strong leadership, organizational, and communication skills.
Ability to build positive relationships with students, families, staff, and the community.
Commitment to fostering sportsmanship and educational athletics.
Current certification in CPR, AED, and First Aid (or ability to obtain prior to the season).
Successful completion of all required state and district background checks.
Head coaching experience.
Experience developing youth or feeder softball programs.
Knowledge of MIAA rules and Massachusetts high school athletics.
Ability to mentor assistant coaches and help build a sustainable program.
Compensation

Compensation is in accordance with the Leominster Public Schools collective bargaining agreement.
