Triton High School is seeking a motivated, knowledgeable, and student-centered Junior Varsity Volleyball Coach to support and develop our volleyball program. The JV Coach is responsible for teaching fundamental volleyball skills, promoting sportsmanship and teamwork, and preparing student-athletes for advancement within the Triton volleyball program. The successful candidate will foster a positive and inclusive team culture while serving as a role model for student-athletes.
Essential Responsibilities:
Plan and conduct effective practices that focus on skill development, game strategy, conditioning, and teamwork.
Teach and reinforce the fundamentals of volleyball in alignment with the philosophy of the Triton volleyball program.
Assist student-athletes in developing sportsmanship, leadership, responsibility, and respect.
Prepare the team for interscholastic competition and coach all scheduled JV contests.
Work collaboratively with the Varsity Head Coach to ensure consistency throughout the volleyball program.
Monitor student-athlete academic and behavioral expectations in accordance with school and MIAA guidelines.
Maintain effective communication with players, families, school administration, and athletic department personnel.
Ensure the safety and well-being of all student-athletes during practices, competitions, and team activities.
Supervise student-athletes during practices, games, transportation, and other team functions as required.
Maintain equipment, uniforms, and facilities in cooperation with the Athletic Department.
Attend coaches' meetings and complete all required administrative responsibilities in a timely manner.
Job Requirements
Qualifications
Previous volleyball coaching and/or playing experience preferred.
Demonstrated ability to teach and develop volleyball fundamentals.
Strong communication, organizational, and leadership skills.
Commitment to promoting a positive educational and athletic experience for all student-athletes.
Ability to work collaboratively with coaching staff, administrators, students, and families.
CPR/AED and First Aid certification preferred or willingness to obtain.
Successful completion of all district, CORI, and MIAA coaching requirements.
