Position: Assistant Football Coach
Department: Athletics
Reports To: Head Football Coach
Classification: Seasonal / Stipend Position

About the Program
Whitman-Hanson Regional High School is building a new coaching staff and is seeking a motivated, dedicated Assistant Football Coach to help lay the foundation for a competitive, character-driven football program. This is an exciting opportunity to be part of something from the ground up and make a lasting impact on student-athletes in the Whitman-Hanson community.

Position Summary
The Assistant Football Coach will work closely with the Head Coach to plan, organize, and implement all aspects of the football program. The ideal candidate is passionate about player development, committed to a positive team culture, and eager to contribute to a collaborative new staff.

Key Responsibilities

Assist the Head Coach in designing and executing practice plans, game strategies, and scouting reports
Coach assigned position groups and develop individual player skills
Help maintain a safe, structured, and positive practice and game environment
Support player academic monitoring and eligibility compliance
Assist with equipment management, field setup, and game-day operations
Build strong relationships with student-athletes, parents, and the school community
Uphold the values and standards of the Whitman-Hanson Athletic Department
Attend all practices, games, and required staff meetings
Participate in off-season programs, including weight room supervision


Qualifications

Prior playing or coaching experience at the high school, college, or youth level preferred
Strong knowledge of football fundamentals, schemes, and player development
Ability to communicate effectively with student-athletes of varying skill levels
Commitment to academic excellence and the overall well-being of student-athletes
Must pass required CORI/background check
CPR/First Aid certification (or willingness to obtain)
Experience working with youth or high school athletes a plus


Compensation
This is a stipend-based, seasonal position. Compensation is in accordance with the Whitman-Hanson Regional School District's athletic stipend schedule.
