Committee Summary
Each athletic league nominates at least one representative to serve on its District Athletic Committee (DAC).
The DAC shall consist of a school administrator and/or an athletic director from each league in the district. At the discretion of the DAC, they may choose one representative (either school administrator and/or athletic director) from one independent school from within that district.
Membership on each DAC should be evenly divided between school administrators and athletic directors. Each DAC shall elect its chair annually.
Committee Mission Statement
The DAC serves as the Nominating Committee of the Association.
They directly appoint a principal and athletic director to each MIAA Sport Committee.
They act on all co-operative and middle school students on high school team's requests within their districts.
Pursuant to Rule 42.1, regarding league membership change, the DAC acts to approve the proposed changes when the described process in Rule 42.1 is completed.
They review all input on each rule change proposal before recommending a position to the Board of Directors.
