Sample Press Release (Pre-Season Meeting)
On
Wednesday, August 31, 1997, from 6:30 p.m. - 9:00 p.m. in the Jefferson Auditorium, a
Chemical Awareness Workshop will be held for students, parents, coaches and advisors. All
students and at least one parent will be required to attend this meeting if the student
wishes to participate in the activities programs during the 1997-98 school year.
The purpose of this workshop will be to
explain to both students and parents the rules governing participation in school
activities.
The
district's Chemical Awareness Coordinator will be the keynote speaker. She will address
the chemical use and abuse issue as it relates to the commitment needed by students,
parents, school officials and community members.
The program will include:
6:30-7:30 p.m. --- Registration
7:00-7:30 p.m. --- School Presentation of
School Eligibility Rules
7:30-8:10 p.m. --- Keynote Speaker
8:10-9:00 p.m. --- Meeting with Coaches
