Bob Bigelow was hired by the MIAA in
January 1995 as an anti-tobacco consultant to help broaden the awareness of rising
smokeless tobacco use and to help educate our state's young people about the unhealthy
effects of all tobacco use. This position is funded by a grant from the Massachusetts
Tobacco Control Program (MTCP). Since that time, Bob has visited over 275 schools,
conducted over 1300 presentations and spoken to over 100,000 students, faculty, coaches,
administrators, and parents. He visits member schools to talk about health and physical
education classes, assemblies and athletic teams. Bob is a former NBA first-round draft
choice and four year NBA player. His athletic career included a stint with the Boston
Celtics. He holds an undergraduate degree from the University of Pennsylvania and an MBA
from Babson College. He is a native and resident of Winchester. |
