All five (5) Greater Boston League Schools (Cambridge Rindge & Latin, Everett, Malden, Medford, & Somerville) have applied to the Northeast Conference in District A.  Masconomet Regional has applied to the Northeast Conference.

Arlington High School is currently seeking to leave the Dual County League to join the Middlesex League.  Desired academic year of realignment: 2010-2011.  Arlington has been invited to join for the year 2011-2012.

Rockland High Schools seeks to leave the Patriot League to join the South Shore League, effective with the 2010-2011 academic year.

Martha's Vineyard Regional High School seeks to leave the Mayflower League and join the Eastern Athletic Conference, effective with the Fall of 2009.

Rockland High School will be submitting an application for acceptance into the South Shore League.   Currently a member of the Patriot League, Rockland feels that the school enrollment and level of competition in the South Shore League are better suited to their school.

Middleborough High School is exploring the feasibility of becoming a member of the South Shore League.   They are presently affiliated with the Patriot League, but in an effort to promote the best interests of their student-athletes, are considering other possible options.   Given the history of productive competition with many members of the South Shore League, as well as geographic location, they would like to examine the possibility of joining the South Shore League.

Arlington and Waltham High Schools have notified the Association that they wish to withdraw from the Greater Boston League in order to join the Dual County League.  This notice begins the process which will involve formal action by both the affected Leagues before the District A and B Athletic Committees meet to consider this petition. -  This change took effect in the Fall of 2008.
