Anti-Defamation League Respect Workshop

The MIAA partners with the Anti-Defamation League’s A WORLD OF DIFFERENCE® Institute to host an annual anti-bias workshop designed for middle and high school administrators, teachers, athletic directors, coaches, counselors and health and wellness educators.

Becoming an Ally: Interrupting Name Calling, Bullying, Cyberbullying and Harassment

Building Unity in Your School: Best Practices in Bullying Prevention
Workshops will be held on the following dates at the MIAA office in Franklin, MA from 8:30 a.m. to 2:00 p.m:

The program will focus on the implications of bullying and related bias incidents on and off the athletic field. Workshop participants will:

  • Have an increased awareness and understanding of the nature of name calling, bullying, cyberbullying, taunting and harassment, and their impact on the school community.
  • Examine the escalating, progressive nature of hateful behavior.
  • Develop intervention and prevention strategies to foster a safer, more respectful learning environment and a culture of e-safety and e-sportsmanship.

Participants who attend the workshop and complete a four-hour follow-up action plan will be awarded 10 professional development points.

A continental breakfast and a light luncheon will be served.

Cost: $30 per person. Print and complete the registration form to attend. Space is limited.
