The Executive Board, on the recommendation of the District Representatives, annually selects eight athletic administrators (one from each of the eight MIAA athletic districts) to receive the District Athletic Director of the Year Award. Recipients of the District Athletic Director of the Year Award are selected from persons nominated by their respective district athletic directors associations. This award recognizes athletic administrators from across the state that have excelled in the profession. In addition, the Executive Board, at the recommendation of the Athletic Director of the Year Selection Committee, selects one individual to receive the MSSADA Athletic Director of the Year Award. The recipient of this award will have made significant contributions within the field of athletic administration at the local, state and national levels and will represent our association at regional and national competitions.
Nominations for the MSSADA Athletic Director of the Year Award along with completed official application forms, biographies, letters of recommendation and professionally done 3x5 color photographs are to be submitted to the Awards Chairman at the September meeting of the Executive Board. The Athletic Director of the Year Selection Committee will meet and review all applications and make their recommendation at the October meeting of the Executive Board.
