
2008 NFHS NATIONAL
STUDENT LEADERSHIP CONFERENCE
This
summer, over 300 students from across the
The NFHS
National Student Leadership Conference will provide a unique forum for students to address
the contemporary issues that impact a young person being a leader and role model. The curriculum of the conference will focus on
respect, positive values, perspective, sportsmanship, teamwork, healthy lifestyles,
community service and self-evaluation. These
components will be addressed in small and large group discussions led by college and adult
facilitators, as well as guest speakers sharing their stories of overcoming challenges,
perseverance and celebrating their talents.
Thanks to a
generous grant from T-Mobile USA, Inc., the conference registration fee, transportation to

Massachusetts Interscholastic Athletic Association (MIAA) will be selecting six students
(most likely three female and three male) from the Class of 2009 and 2010 to participate
in this unique leadership offering. These
students will be accompanied to

a member of the Class of 2009 or 2010 and would like to apply for an opportunity to attend
the 2008 NFHS National Student Leadership Conference, please answer the following
questions:
1) What does developing leadership
skills through sports and activities mean to you
and how do you put your beliefs into practice in your school and community?
2) Why
should you be chosen to attend the 2008 NFHS National Student Leadership
Conference?
Your
answers to these questions, along with your principals signature should be faxed to
508-541-9888 (attn: Peter Smith) no later than
Wednesday, April 16. The six students
who are selected to attend this conference will be notified immediately and preparations
will be made for travel, etc.
