RE: MINUTES OF NEC SPECIAL MEETING @ BRADFORD CC ON 5/21/09
1. Fall Schedules cross-checked and at the present all participating as listed.
2. Banquet Reservations - Still need from Bev & Glo. Must have by Tues., 6/2.
3. Proposed 2010 Football Schedule handed out with one correction - Block 3 should be Sau @ Sal on Fri., 9/24/10. Will be on the June agenda for action.
4. Discussion on Student leaders Workshop that is presently be set up for the Fall at Endicott College. Will be on the June agenda.
5. Draft of addition to Commissioners Job Description that was in the May minutes for 2010-11 discussed and will be finalized at the June NEC meeting.
6. Motion defeated to schedule Baseball and Softball via gender enrollment only.
7. Discussion on Facebook pictures being sent to the Principal and or AD anonymously and what schools are doing. If they know the sender they act on what is given to them. If they do not, some schools have been sending to the Parents to make them aware and inform them that it is anonymous and they do not know when or where it took place.
8. Schools who ordered Baseball Rule Books were mailed out and hopefully next year they will be printed and available earlier.
9. Discussion on the NCAA Change to be eligible for Div. I athletics - must have achieved a 2.0 in 16 courses at the conclusion of 4 years, and cannot count a 5th year at another school. Only exception deals with Special Education students. If anyone has concerns or questions on this, they should go to the NCAA Web-site for more information.
