RE: MINUTES OF 3/12 NEC MEETING
1. Dick Neal, MIAA Ex. Dir., welcomed to meeting along with ADs from all schools.
2. Retiring school personnel who are retiring with 10 yrs of NEC service for Gold Pass at NEC Banquet on 6/9: Fred Day, Swpsct.
3. Treasurers report accepted. Balance of $22187.79.
4. February minutes accepted.

Fall
Sub-V schedules cross-checked for participation and all (MS Soccer, MS CC, F F Hoc, F
Ftbl, JV Ftbl, MS F Hoc, & F B & G Soc)
will remain the same except
that Win will not have F Ftbl. Schedules will be out
in April.
6.
Coaches
meeting reports:
a. Ice Hockey All Stars & Award winners
were e-mailed out. Two concerns MIAA Alignment and
officiating. Commissioner to be invited to April meeting.
b. Indoor Track All Stars & Award winners
handed out. Coaches would like to have separate JV meets scheduled (3-4) for next year.
c. Cheering Competition held at Lynn English
and financial report given to Sec/Treas. Check will be sent when all bills have been paid.
d. Gymnastics meet was held at Beverly
Sterling Y and need to pay for Shuttle Service bill of $300. Discussion on schedule and
hosting of NEC Open next year.
e. Baseball Joe Orlando, Glo, will be the
Media Rep. They reviewed Rules & Regulations and should send rosters to Dave Wilbur,
Bev. Coach
send to Jim Coffey @ Beverly.
f. Softball Discussion of All-Star game and
will be Large Div. vs Small Div. Commissioner requested that games over vacation be at 12,
1, 2, or 4 pm.
Please
cross-check with him if you need an earlier time.
g. Lacrosse Meeting was held and minutes will
be out at April meeting.
h. Tennis & Outdoor Track will be on April
agenda.

Discussion on the process for selecting All-Stars. Motion accepted that
the Sports League Director, with approval of the NEC ADs, will determine
process to follow. Each
Director should discuss at pre-season meeting and bring to NEC meeting for final approval.
8. No District A report. All reminded of the meeting at the Cape during the AD Conference. Jim C will be covering user fees.

Scholar
Athlete Banquet Speakers have been agreed to: Alex Perry, Danvers;
and Peter Kinchley,
Swampscott.
All reminded to have
pictures and bios of both Boy and Girl to Danvers
by 4/1.
10. Coaches Banquet All reminded to have Bio of community award winner to Danvers by 5/1.
11. Final Winter Standings and Martin Points tabled until April meeting.
12. NEC Dick & Kathy Baker Scholarship Application
handed out to all schools and all reminded that you may nominate 1 boy or girl and
that application
is due at the April AD meeting.

15. Spring Schedules were cross-checked prior to the
meeting. Please make sure that all commissioners are given any and all changes,

check your assignments when received from them.

19. New Business:
a. All reminded for Outdoor Track to have it lined for the 400M
Hurdles. Pay for certified officials for Quad/Tri meets - $99 (fee and ½).
b. Rule book
order form was handed out for 09-10. Bill will be handed out after Bsbl rule books are
ordered. Rule books handed out for Tennis,
Softball,
and B & G Lacrosse.
c. Discussion on
assigning of Ice Hockey JV Officials. By NEC rules, must be done by Ice H commissioner.
d. Swampscott Girls
Basketball & Lynn English Boys Basketball teams wished the best for upcoming State
Championships.
