RE: MINUTES OF 9/9 CAL MEETING
1. Les Murray, Amesbury Principal & CAL President welcomed all and noted that he has been an AD, AP, Coach & Official and understands the important role played by the AD. He meets with CAL Principals on a monthly basis and if he can help in any way just call or e-mail. He also is the CAL rep on the MIAA District A Committee and if doing a co-op or wishing to join a committee please let him know.
2. Treasurer’s report accepted. Balance of $13952.91.
3. June & August minutes accepted.
4. Georgetown Principal, Peter Lucia, appointed as CAL President for 2009-2010.
5. Proposed dates for Coaches Meetings, CAL Events & Media Reps accepted. All three will be e-mailed with the minutes.
6. Updated CAL Handbooks handed out – 1 for Principal & 1 for AD.
7. Dates for Spring Sports reviewed and approved. Schedules will be handed out at our October meeting, or e-mailed prior. Lynnfield announced they hope to have a JV Girls Lacrosse program this Spring and will be looking for games.
8. Updated CAL Directory is included in the handbook. Everyone also reminded that the Handbook (including the directory) is up on the MIAA web-site.
9. Following schools have girls on Golf Teams this Fall: Lynfd, Pent, & Wil. NR also has a girl on their Football Team.
10. Uniform colors – Ipswich Freshman Football will wear orange only.
11. All commissioners have sent out assignments and all reminded to check on a regular basis that you have officials assigned. Direct all concerns to that commissioner.
12. Bills for CAL events will be handed out in October. Still waiting to receive the Outdoor Track results.
13. Trophy orders for all CAL sports updated. Approved sheet will be handed out in Oct.
14. Updated User Fees, Ticket Prices, & AD Salaries handed out.
15. PDP’s handed out to everyone who qualified – from 04-05 thru 07-08.
16. Correspondence & e-mails:
a. Boys Lacrosse Schedule – motion accepted for NR to move from tier 2 to tier 3. Schedule e-mailed to all last week.
b. Indoor Track schedule accepted – was e-mailed to all from Tom G, Ips.
17. New Business:
a. Triton announced they will not have a Fresh. Girls Soccer team.
b. Amesbury announced they will not have a Fresh. F Hockey team, but they are looking for more JV games – please contact them if interested.
c. Wrestling schedule – Jon L, NA, is working on & sent out first draft via e-mail.
d. Motion accepted for Ipswich to allow a Sp. Ed. Student to play on F Girls Soc.
e. Rosters have been handed out or e-mailed from most schools. If you do not have, please contact AD at that school.
