MINUTES OF 9/8 CAL
MEETING
1. Peter
Lucia, CAL
President & Georgetown Principal was unable to attend, but via his AD, Guy P, he
wished everyone the best for a successful school year. Dick Neal, MIAA
Executive Director, thanked the CAL for his invitation to attend a meeting each
year, and that they should not hesitate to call the MIAA if they have any questions.
2. Treasurers report accepted. Balance of $5090.03.
3. June
and August minutes accepted.
4. Following
league rotation, Matt Fox, HW Principal, will be CAL
President for 2010-2011.
5. Approved dates for AD Meetings, Coaches Meetings, Media Reps and CAL
Events will be attached with
these minutes.
6. Updated
CAL Handbooks handed out 2 per school
for Principal and AD.
7. Field Hockey jamboree went well and Coaches
report was e-mailed out to all from Mary Ryan.
8. Dates
for Spring Teams agreed to and discussion on
playing all sports over the April Vacation. Following motion accepted All CAL Spring Sports will play over April vacation
beginning in the Spring of 2011.
9. Announced
that Masco and NR have a girl playing on their Golf
team.
10.
Ipswich announced they only have orange uniforms
for Fresh. Football.
11.
All assignments from commissioners are out, and anyone with specific
questions should call the individual assignor.
12.
Bills for CAL Events: Awards, Swimming, Indoor Track,
& Spring Track will be handed out at the Oct. meeting. Still waiting for Boys Lacrosse award winners 2009.
13.
Trophy & Award orders updated and will be
handed out in Oct.
14.
User Fees, Ticket Prices, & AD Salaries and Job
Breakdown handed out with all updated information. These will be done at the beginning
of each year.
15.
All-Star nominating proposal tabled until after March Meetings with coaches, so
each sport will be able to weigh in with their recommendations.
16.
New Business:
a. Girls Lacrosse All-Star game with the NEC
motion accepted (and also supported by the NEC)
to have teams split, so as to have some CAL with NEC and vice versa.
b. CAL Directory
update: Neal W, Lynfd, cell # 978-270-5775.

Jon L,
NA, announced they will have a get-together for Susan S, former AD Sec. on 10/8, at the NA
Country Club.
d. Motion accepted to allow Ipswich Special Ed. Student to
participate at the Fresh. Level.
