RE:        MINUTES OF THE 2/3 CAL MEETING

  1.        Moment of silence held on behalf of Joe Hyland, former AD at Manchester, who passed away on Thurs., Jan., 29th.

  2.        Dick Neal, MIAA Ex. Director, welcomed to the meeting.

  3.        Treasurer’s report accepted. Balance of $37588.92.

  4.        January minutes accepted with one addition: Co-op renewal with Pentucket host and Gtwn guest in Golf, unanimously accepted.

  5.        All reminded that if you have any agenda items for the Principals/AD Mtg on Wed., 4/29 to forward them to me. Presently have
            Fan behavior, Mid-yr exams & schedules, & MIAA Annual meeting.

  6.        2009 V Football Schedule reviewed and latest updates added (dated 2/9/09).

  7.        District A report:
            a. Award nominee’s information needed – send to Bill Adams, Lynfd.
            b. Annual dues will now be $250, that includes the AD conference expenses.
            c. Cut-off dates are being looked at by the Baseball & Tennis Committees.
            d. Hotel in Hyannis has been completely remodeled.

  8.        All Fall Schedules accepted with changes – e-mailed to all – dated 2/9/09.

  9.        CAL life-time passes will be presented at Coaches Banquet in March (Hardy Nalley & Gail Kelleher) and all AD’s reminded to invite
             retired AD’s from your school to attend.

10.        All coaches meetings & CAL events cross-checked.

11.        Coaches Meetings:
            a. Swim – Open went well at Salem State & will give report with award winners & all-stars at March meeting.
            b. Cheer – Minutes handed out that included the competition planning.

12.        Sheet handed out covering the Sports Meetings & Banquet. All reminded that final count for the banquet must be called in by Fri., 3/6.

13.        National Conference handouts received from Dave & Dan.

14.        Discussion on the request of HW to move from Div. I to Div. II for the Hyland Standings.
            Motion to table accepted.

15.        New Business:
            a. Final Fall (2008) Standings & Hyland points handed out and accepted.
            b. Admission price for CAL Wrestling Open – listed in handbook – Adults $10 & Students $5 – with one admission only.
            c. E-mailed sheet from Roy C, Lac Comm., covered. Please make sure to follow up.
            d. MIAA Baseball Alignments have been corrected and now up on the web-site.
            e. M/E announced that they will be playing Tennis this Spring indoors for 1 more yr.
