RE: MINUTES OF DEC. 2 CAL MEETING

  1.        Treasurer’s report accepted with 1 correction – Line B-3 total should be $3000. Balance of $30235.05.

  2.        November minutes accepted.

  3.        Final Fall Standings handed out and still need the following: Ames – Boys Soccer; Wil, Ames, & Trit – Girls Soccer.

  4.        Hyland trophy points tabled until final Fall Standings are accepted.

  5.        JV Track – agreed that all schools will participate, and if not, please call Tom G @ Ips. Tom also stated that M/E will participate
            in the JV meets only.

  6.        District A – All reminded to pay dues to MSSADA and to register for Conference & to register for a room
            – All forms are up on the MSSADA Web-site.

  7.        Larry McIntire, Basketball Commissioner, handed out assignments & officials list, reviewed rule changes, and reminded all to keep
            officials list in a safe place, since all Social security numbers are listed. Joe McAuliffe, Ice Hockey Commissioner, has assigned officials
            and will get the list to Lynnfield and they will send out with schedule.   Any questions should be directed to Joe. Deems Hatch, Indoor Track
            Commissioner,
will assign all meets & any concerns should be sent directly to him.

  8.        Dave Dempsey, Football Director, conducted the meeting and will e-mail the award Winners and All-Stars.

  9.        Winter Rosters – If you have not received, please call the school you are missing. All should be distributed for Boys & Girls Basketball,
            & Ice Hockey.

10.        Mid-year exam week for 2010 will be 1/18/10 to 1/21/10 – MLK Day: 1/18.

11.        Cheering award winners handed out along with small & large division results from the Fall Competition.

12.        Fall ’09 dates handed out and agreed to for all Fall Schedules. Schedules will be handed out in January.

13.        MIAA Sportsmanship plaques presented to Gtwn, NA, NR, Pent. & Triton for being listed during the 07-08 school year with no suspensions
            for coaches or athletes – CONGRATULATIONS.

14.        New Business:
            a. Concern voiced on coaches making comments after All-Star & Commissioner meetings. Sec/Treas. to come in with language to
                add to All-Star and Commissioner sheets in the CAL handbook. A proposal will be on agenda in January.
            b. Ed H, Wil, handed out sheet on recruiting night for Football players and coaches.
            c. Guy P, Gtwn, is looking for a school to co-op with in Swimming. Brief discussion with a possibility of Gtwn, Pent, & Triton.
            d. Discussion on Winter Cheering teams and who does and does not travel.
            e. Hardy N, announced he is looking for a JV Boys Bsk. Coach and additional Girls V games.
            f. 2009 Football Schedule discussed and will be on agenda for Jan. I will attach what was approved at the 4/1/08 CAL meeting.
