RE: MINUTES OF NOVEMBER 4TH CAL MEETING

  1.        Treasurer’s report accepted. Balance of $23965.71.

  2.        October minutes accepted.

  3.        District A report:

            a. Nominations for awards: Hardy Nally, M/E – President’s Award of Merit; Ted Damko – Don Doucette, HW;
                NIAAA State Aw of Merit – Bill Adams, Lynfd; & NIAAA Dist. Service –  Outside – Roy Condon, Soc & Lac Commissioner.

            b. Rules packet – all voted on proposed rules.

  4.        Spring Schedules updated and approved for B Lac, G Lac, V/JV Softbl, V/JV Bsbl, Outdr Trk, G Tn, B Tn, & Fresh. Bsbl & Sftbl.
              All e-mailed out on 11/6.

  5.        Oct. 1st enrollment figures handed out. Discussion on Football divisions and how close three schools (HW 730, Nbypt 728, & NR 733)are.
            All
CAL alignments follow the MIAA enrollment #’s – 10/1/07. Nbypt would like to see the CAL in Football be Div. I: 5 schools, and Div. II: 7
            schools. Since the MIAA Football committee has stated that if you have two divisions of 6, do not play everyone, you then have 2 entries
            into the playoff’s – no action taken.

  6.        Winter schedules updated:
            a. Ice Hockey – Bill & Neal will e-mail out to everyone with final times/dates/sites.
            b. Swimming – Hardy will e-mail out shortly.
            c. Wrestling – Schedule that Jon L e-mailed out will be final.

  7.        Coaches meeting reports:
            a. Field Hockey – Final Standings, Award Winners, All-Stars, & report handed out. Concern voiced on the number of games with
               only 1 official & need for more officials.
            b. Soccer – Final Standings, Award Winners, All-Stars, & report handed out with the financial breakdown of the All-Star game
                – Income of $615.
            c. Cross Country -  Award Winners, All-Stars, & report handed out. Motion defeated to go back to 1 division.
            d. Volleyball – Award Winners, All-Stars, & report handed out. Discussion on the 09 schedule and the need for open dates to cross-over.
                CAL will merge with NEC for 09.
            e. Golf – Final Standings, Awards Winners, All-Stars, &  report handed out. To be on March Coaches meeting agenda: scoring systems
                from other leagues; CAL Open format and the number of golfers per team for team standings, & review tie-breaker for Open.
                It was proposed that it would be good if the MIAA Golf Committee came out with a recommended process for scoring dual meets.
            f. Cheering – Meeting minutes handed out and competition is ready to roll. Results & award winners will be handed out at the December
               meeting.

  8.        Rule books handed out for Bsk, Ice H, Swim, Gymn, Wrest, & Track/Field.

  9.        Coaches Meetings & CAL Events cross-checked. Only question is the site for the CAL vs NEC Ice Hockey All-Star game on Sat., 2/21.

10.        Checks (1000) handed out to the 3 going to the Nat. Convention in Dec: Trit, Pent, & NA.
            They will report back on sessions at our Jan. meeting.

11.        New Business:
            a. MSSADA Convention in March – Room reservation form handed out.
            b. MSSADA Pictures from conference handed out.
            c. Gymnastic schedule has been updated by commissioner & coaches.
            d. All reminded that your Insurance binder has to be sent to the RLC.
