BOYS LACROSSE SEEDING PROCESS

The MIAA Boys Lacrosse Committee believes its seeding process works best for all of the participating schools.

The seeding meetings are run by the Tournament Directors and each league has the opportunity to be represented. A sub-committee of the Boys Lacrosse Committee is in attendance also, to vote on any concerns that may arise. All teams qualifying are ranked in their divisions from top to bottom:

A - Overall Winning %; B - Success vs. Tournament Teams, & C - Head to head, common opponents, strength of schedule, and any other info that would be beneficial to determination. A, B, & C are totaled and this creates the final ranking of 1 thru whatever. A key part in the entire process is the league rep. All are extremely knowledgeable about lacrosse and MIAA member teams. With the many new teams participating in lacrosse, the final two criteria, B & C, gives everyone an equal playing field, and the result is the best games at the end.

We urge all Principals and AD's to be aware of who their league rep is, and to work to have this person be someone who represents all of your schools fairly.
